Jenna discovered yoga at seventeen and it propelled her on a journey to discover her souls destiny. Native American teachings , women’s empowerment circles, psychology, quantum physics and shamanic studies in the Incan tradition have all influenced her teaching style. She has also studied other healing modalities that complement her yoga, including Shiatsu massage at the Ohashi Institute, herbology with Arcus Flynn, nutrition and quantum energy studies with Karen Panish and Siddha Yoga chanting and meditation. She has also completed 350 hours of training in Peruvian Shamanism with Alberto Villoldo’s , The Four Winds Society.
Jenna is now leading workshops and retreats around the globe bringing her love of service to another level through her Dream Weaver Yoga and Shamanic Healing 8 Threads of Light intensives. These are transformational teachings for the era of enLIGHTenment. She is currently co-creating the first annual Hampton's YogaFest to be held September 18-20th 2015 at the Hayground School
Jenna Walter is a certified Integral Yoga instructor. She has taught yoga in classes, private sessions, workshops, and healing retreats for over 15 years.
Jenna is deeply committed to the community. As a mother of three Jenna has great interest in the local schools. With another yoga teacher, Kate Rabinowitz, she helped create and teach an Integrated Wellness Program at the Springs School with 26 classes a week that brought yoga, meditation, nutrition and life skills to several hundred kindergarten through sixth graders. Jenna helped build and run Route 114 Yoga Center with a broad mix of athletic training and yoga. At the studio Jenna developed a series of chanting, meditation and life teachings and in collaboration with Eve Elliot, ” Toolbox for Transformation” to help individuals open to their full potential. Jenna continues to teach children of all ages in schools and education centers in East Hampton and Aspen .
Surfset: Inspired by the art of surfing, this is designed to strengthen your core and improve your balance. This class gives you full-body strength building with cardio mixed in to get your heart rate up for an all around great workout! In this 45-minutes class you will burn anywhere from 450-800 calories! All levels welcome!
Fit Pilates/Hard Core Pilates: Using a floor mat and small props, this class focuses on basic Pilates principles: core strength, increased flexibility, breath control and correct alignment to improve posture. There is also a fitness component mixed in to get your heart beating! Every class is different to insure that the body is challenged in new ways, but simple choreography and clear instruction makes this class accessible to both beginners that haven’t exercised in years or people who exercise regularly.
Aromatherapy Yoga: Aromatherapy yoga is a traditional Hatha or Vinyasa Flow (your choosing) yoga class accompanied with essential oils. Each class we will introduce a new oil or work with one of your choosing for ultimate relaxation during your practice.
Candlelit Yoga: End your day with the tranquility of our candlelight yoga class. Make a mind body connection that will aid in your body’s flexibility and strength. The focus of this class is to tap into your inner hearts wisdom, that place of pure light and energy within yourself. A perfect way to find relaxation at the end of a long day and to rejuvenate your spirit. All levels are welcomed and encouraged. No experience needed.
Beginners Yoga: Our beginners yoga classes will walk you through all of the foundations of yoga.
Hatha Yoga: Traditional yogic poses or asanas integrated with breathing technique and meditation for an over all health and spiritual well being. "Ha" meaning sun and "tha" meaning moon are the main principles present in this form of yoga practice. All levels are welcome and encouraged to try this wonderful vinyasa flow.
Restorative Yoga: If you need some serious TLC, this is the yoga session for you! The emphasis is on deep relaxation and breathing techniques to restore and bring balance to the immune and nervous systems. Its great for beginners and advanced students of all ages! Every yoga student should do a restorative practice at least once a month.
Gentle Yoga: Are you an early bird and like a good stretch before heading off to work? This class is for you--with no experience needed. With a welcoming instructor, you will feel right at home and able to ease into the practice of yoga. This class will guide you in laying a strong foundation for your yoga practice. The informal atmosphere allows for a slower pace, questions, and light hearted fun-- ensuring that you are wildly successful as you embark on your yoga journey.
